Today, we had the wonderful opportunity of attending the Annapolis Marriott Waterfont Bridal Show. The event was filled with excited brides, fabulous vendors and lots of great food, fun and prizes. In addition to displaying our couture creations at our own table, we were asked by Sarah Campbell of Historic Events (http://www.myhistoricevents.com/) to design menus, place cards and table numbers for her tablescape at the show. This is an IMPORTANT message for Michael – Support Engineer ‘MSFT Owner’, the message everyone keeps getting with the downloaded files RE: ?We are unable to create or save new files in the folder in which this application was downloaded?? is for this reason and this reason only (and one which you’ve already mentioned) it’s because people are downloading the 64-Bit version of the setup files on a 32-Bit OS such as Windows XP 32-Bit or Windows Vista 32-Bit, now at the very END of the extraction of the setup files from the box files it attempts to run the 64-Bit Setup EXE for Windows 7 on a 32-Bit version of Windows which simply will not work! And I found this out by trying to extract the box files on Windows XP Professional 32-Bit and getting the same error as everyone else ?We are unable to create or save new files in the folder in which this application was downloaded?? at the very end of the extraction because 32-Bit Windows can’t run a 64-Bit exe file (the Windows 7 64-Bit Setup File) so I checked how many files had been extracted and how many folders had been created which was 874 files and 199 folders, now once I’d managed to get Windows 7 installed I then just to see if my theory was right unpacked/unboxed all of the files again, this time on the 64-bit version of Windows 7 Professional and it extracted the exact amount of files and folders as it did on Windows XP 32-Bit which was 874 Files and 199 folders WITH NO ERROR! The only reason an error occurs for everyone else is because the 64-Bit exe try’s to run once ALL the files are extracted but it can’t on 32-Bit versions of Windows which is why the error comes up, there are no files missing or corrupt despite the error, the error only comes up simply because a 32-Bit version of Windows cannot run a 64-Bit exe.
