Imagine my surprise when I opened in the Spring/Summer 2010 issue of The Knot – DC/MD/VA and saw, not one, but two articles with our work! Back in the Fall, I was contacted by The Knot and told that they were featuring one of our couples, Tyler and Nicholas, in an article about wedding budgets. So, I was ready for this new issue to come out! But, as I’m flipping through the pages, I saw another one of my couples from last year…Jennifer and Bryan…and a glam shot of our/their invite! Wow…very exciting! So, I’ll stop “talking” and share the pages from the magazine. Enjoy!

Classic Celtic
Michaela contacted me via email to create a folder style invitation for her formal wedding in North Carolina. She wanted to incorporate a Celtic feel into the invite, but in a very classic and simple way. We used a pretty Celtic border in a single moss green color, and incorporated accents with invite backing and ribbon in the same color. The plum metallic folder completes the overall look. The folder style has a ribbon band on the left inside of the invite that holds the response set and additional insert cards. It’s a great alternative to the pocket style invitation. We shipped these invitations out last week, so hopefully Michaela and Gerald have received them! Enjoy!
Weddings and Babies too!
A lot of people ask me if we only design invitations and accessories for weddings…the answer is no. We love all special events. And, we especially love when clients that we have worked with in the past, for their wedding, come back to us for the next milestone in their lives…a baby!
Krissy and Jonathan were married in September of 2008. Krissy’s mom called me about 2 months ago to let me know that they were having a surprise baby shower for Krissy. I was so happy to design her shower invitation — animal themed with yellows and greens — they don’t know if it is a boy or a girl yet!
After the shower, Krissy emailed me to about designing coordinating thank you notes. So cute! I just love when the relationship with a client can span time and life milestones! Hope Baby Olmstead is happy, healthy and just as sweet as their parents! Enjoy!
Oh, and I included a shot of Krissy and Jonathan walking down the aisle on our custom designed aisle runner…

Georgia Gorgeous
Brandy and Chris worked with me completely over email and mail to create the perfect pocket invite for their nuptials in Georgia. We mailed them swatches of cardstocks, ribbon and pockets for color options. They picked a style of pocket from a blog post and chose their fonts from our electronic font list. This was a great example of how we can work with clients from all over the country to come up with the perfect invite.
The pomegranate metallic red pocket is so striking with the white satin ribbon and gold leaf accents. We turned this pocket on the side to give it a different look and put the cards in the pocket sideways too. I think this invite is just gorgeous…hope Brandy and Chris do too! Enjoy!
Burberry Tie the Knot
Allison and Robert’s wedding invitation design was inspired by the Burberry ties that the groomsmen will be wearing. What first started a search for matching ribbon evolved into a custom designed plaid design that was carried through on the monogram tag, invite panel and even insert cards. The gold metallic pocket and scarlet red accents really make the design pop off the invite. I just love how this all came together and can’t wait to work on their wedding day accessories! Enjoy!
