Looking Back on 2012

It is always fun to go back and sift through all the fabulous photos that have been taken of our work throughout the year.  I thought it would be nice to do a whole post just dedicated to some of our favorites from this year — picking just a few was SO hard!!  Enjoy!  We are looking forward to another amazing year…welcome 2013!!!

Wrap Up :: Chesapeake Bay Beach Club Bridal Show :: January 7, 2012

Okay, I have to admit, this is my favorite show of the season!  Don’t get me wrong, I love all the bridal  shows, since I get to reconnect with my favorite vendors and meet wonderful brides-to-be.  But, the “beach club show” is just so much fun, because I have the wonderful opportunity to collaborate with phenomenal vendors to create a styled room to inspire brides!  This year, I was so happy to be back with Cynthia from Flower Follies!

Now, some of you know that I met Cynthia 10 years ago when I was planning my wedding…and she did my flowers!!! She is one of the sweetest gals on the planet, not to mention, she is just so freakin’ talented. Her “small shop” mentality means that each bride gets the PERFECT flowers and design for their big day. She loves vintage, feathers and rhinestones…likes to use unexpected flowers in amazing ways…and really, you can identify her work anywhere!

I love that she asked for me to be in her room this year and that we got to design a perfectly modern, nautical theme! We wanted the look to be clean and crisp – mostly white with pops of yellow and unexpected punches of cobalt blue. K&B Bridal was added to our room and came in with the great idea of incorporating the grey chevron print into the design and I just LOVE how it completed the design perfectly.

Hope you enjoy all of these photos from the day. Please note that the majority of these photos are from my phone camera…so not professional (unless noted). But,Kimberly Brooke Photography took lots of pro pics…and so did Mark from Hamilton Photography. Hope to share those too soon!!!

I think the best feeling of the day was watching so many brides take pictures of the table and of course, those adorable hanging mason jars with pinwheels!!! Thanks to all who came, saw and loved!!

Nautical Love!

I was so excited when I received an email from Jeanne a few weeks ago. Why? Well, because she did what I always ask my clients to do….she took one of her invitations with her to the wedding and had her photographer do some “glam” shots of the invite. And, these photos are just so fun! Love! Thanks to Jeanne and Owen for sharing these wonderful shots of our invite design. Enjoy!

THE Chapel

In Annapolis, THE chapel would have to be the United States Naval Academy Chapel.  And, being that we are located in Annapolis, we have the honor of designing invitations for many Naval Academy weddings.  A few years ago, I sketched the dome of the chapel for a client and I have to admit it is one of my most popular designs.  We have changed the color of this dome so many times, but it’s still classic, recognizable and perfect for our military weddings.

In this design, Katie and Jerry picked very traditional colors of navy blue, light gold and silver.  The combination came together so beautifully and really just makes me think of classic USNA wedding.  Enjoy this pretty invite and maybe we can sketch your ceremony venue for our next design!

Bright and Navy

Tiffany and Tucker are getting married in August at the United States Naval Academy chapel. I was so excited to work on Tiffany’s save the dates and invitations, because she is using a very creative color combination of royal blue and bright orange. And, we used some modern fonts…and of course, my hand sketch of the Naval Academy dome. The final design is fresh and fun! Can’t wait to work on their invites! Enjoy!
