Real Wedding :: Karen & Rory :: 01.08.11

I originally photos of Karen and Rory’s wedding on Bayside Bride and knew I had to contact the wonderful photographer Kristen Gardner to get more photos, so we could share this wedding on our blog too!  I met with Karen and her mom last year — so sweet, so happy and so ready to have the perfect, classic wedding.  The black and ivory color scheme was brought out in all items we designed for Karen and Rory…and take note of how the black satin ribbon corners are repeated on the invite and wedding program.  Love the classic simplicity of this wedding and so happy to share with you…enjoy!

When a plan comes together…

This weekend I had one of those moments when I thought…wow…I just love it when a plan comes together.  Let me explain…so, a week ago, Diana from Eventi Planning emails me and asks if I can design some paper for the tablescape she is putting together for her booth at the Baltimore Bridal Show.  As some of you know, I love doing these collaborations, mostly because I can try out new and fun ideas!  Well, Diana gave me a few tidbits…purple, grey, touches of yellow…vintage with a hint of mod.   That’s it!  So, I had a couple ideas and went to town.  What I came up with was so fun and different that I just loved it.  Now, I had no idea if it would mesh with what Diana was envisioning, because, seriously, I only had six real descriptive words to describe her vision.  But, when I saw the whole table come together, I was so over the moon!  It’s great when two people can bring together something so cool with six words…enjoy!

Celebrations at the Bay Wrap Up

I’m so excited about today’s show…mostly because I get to work with the best vendors in the area…and because the design we did with Intrigue Design and Decor for the show was just so happy and cheerful!  And, it was great meeting many new brides, grooms and families too.  What a day!

When Sarah told me that she wasn’t  putting together the design for her table (flowers, decor, anything…) until she saw my paper, I was stunned and honored.  Having a talented floral and decor designer take a cue from my paper designs to create a whole tablescape was just amazing.  And, I was so excited to see how it all came together.  We designed one place setting (menu and place card) for a traditional, whimsical and ultra-mod wedding.  And, really, when you put all three together on the same table, it still works.  Good tip for brides there – you can mix and match – as long as you have one connection throughout and in this case it was COLOR! :)

I’m sharing lots of pics below, but I couldn’t resist, because Christina and Mark from Hamilton Photography took so many awesome shots that I couldn’t narrow them down.  Really, you just want to jump into these pictures and swim…the colors are so vibrant and true to life.  Ah….love it!  Okay, I could gush all night and I probably should get some sleep soon!  I hope you enjoy these wonderful designs!

Love working with these two gals…Christina from Hamilton Photography (left) and Sarah from Intrigue Design & Decor (middle) {oh and me on the right}.

A little bit of this…

…and a little bit of that!  It’s been a long time since we’ve posted some of our accessories designs.  I feel like I’m always “talking invite”, but it’s nice to go back and take a look at some of the wedding day stationery that we have designed for our clients.  Keep in mind that most of the time, our accesories designs can be done without an “in studio” meeting.  So, we can work via email to design the perfect wedding day programs, place cards, table numbers, menus and more!  Enjoy!

Enchanting Engagement

I was so excited to get these great photos from Nancy and Kyle’s engagement party which was held at OGLE Hall at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. In addition to creating their invitations for this evening, we were asked by Michele at Michele Damon Events to create a surprise menu design and some really great place cards that were placed in corks…wait until you see the pic. Ahh…love it! In addition to Michele and her team, I wanted to recognize Wicked Willow for the phenomenal florals…can anyone tell me the flowers/branches that are on the table? And, also special thanks to this photographer Jonathan Hanson Weddings for taking the awesome shots. Enjoy!
